The Government in the People's Republic of China is represented by a Council of 34 Chancellors (The Chinese Grand Council) and a Grand Chancellor who presides, all nominated for appointment by the Grand Master of the Order. All Chancellors act as Ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary (or Ministers) of the Central Government (The Chancellery) and they are the highest ranking individuals to represent the Order in their appointed Provinces and Municipalities. Their work is to advise and assist the Grand Master in any given area and to represent the Order to all official entities and in all official ceremonies.
